She grew up alongside Casey and eventually gained a place among Resistance Command after the passing of her Master, Hamato Donatello. Around that time, her relationship with the great Master Leonardo became strained. It’s normal to see the two fighting over… something or another. Though, it was just as normal to see the two sitting beside each other, quiet but content.

She’s always been the first to catch on to any of Casey’s antics and always the first to support and go along with them. Best friends til the end. They’ve always considered each other as the closest thing they’d ever had to siblings. So, therefore, are always quick to back the other up, no matter what. An unshakeable bond that has only strengthened through each hardship they’ve had to face in their harsh childhoods.

I wasn’t going to add in OCs to my Komorebi universe at first but realized, if my sequel was going to become a reality, than I would need some characters to play with, beyond the ex-rise villains lol.

When I was first thinking about Eryn and Misi interacting, Angellustrates had posted Eryn first meeting April, and I couldn’t help but think that Misi would remind Eryn of a certain blonde bitch, even if just for a second.

Of course the illusion was broken the next nanosecond Misi opened her mouth, but you know :3

Graves dropped the radio with a strangled gasp. They were gone. His mind reeled as he prayed, desperately, for the chance that even one of them was alive. He picked up the radio.

"Any Shadow, please respond!" Graves yelled into the radio, "Any Shadow..."

Graves heard a tsk from where General Shepherd's image was.

"You said your men were good," mused Shepherd

"They are!" snarled Graves

"And yet they still lost,"

"Please, let me send out a team to recover their bodies!" begged Graves

"Fine," agreed Shepherd, "But I want all of your men to report to the training fields at 05:00 two days from now,"

"What? Why?" asked Graves

"Because it's clear your men need better training," said Shepherd before cutting off the communication.

Graves felt the radio slip from his hand. 

"Commander," a young woman's voice called, hesitant

He turned to face the Shadow, mouth twitching into a forced smile.

"Roze, get a squad together and bring back the bodies of our boys," said Graves

"Yes, sir," said Rozlin "Roze" Helms, one of his best men

The woman turned and hurried off, yelling orders into her radio as she vanished out the door.

Graves turned back to the front and pulled his phone out to call his captain. After ringing for a moment, she answered. 

"Something must have gone wrong if you need me back," was the first thing Captain Artemisia said

"Something did happen," he said, "Can you come back?"

"I'm on my way," said Artemisia, “I can be there in a week”

Roze returned almost seven hours later with dozens of bodies and one survivor. The one survivor was in such bad condition that the medics weren't sure he was going to make it.

He did end up pulling through but slipped into a coma.

Two days later, every Shadow was standing at attention as General Shepherd, along with his personal men, stood in front of them all. Graves shifted slightly before turning to look at the General.

"Sir, what exactly is the reason we are here?" asked Graves

"You all need to get better; this failure is very clear," said Shepherd

Graves opened his mouth to snap something back when he heard a voice shout his name. He turned and spotted one of Shadow Company's medics. He looked out of breath and panicked.

"Sir!" he said, "All the pain and sleep medication is gone!"

"What!"

"That is the second order of business," said Shepherd, "Until you improve, no medication will be allowed,"

"I'm sorry, what!" yelled Graves, "Sir, you can't do this!"

"I just did," said Shepherd

"What if surgery is needed!?" cried Graves

Shepherd turned and leaned in until he was mere inches away from Graves' face.

"Then do it while they're awake," said Shepherd, and a cold chill went down Graves' spine

"You're sick," he whispered

Shepherd withdrew, and then Graves' head whipped to the side with a force that sent him slamming into the ground. His head spun, and he struggled up. When his head cleared, he saw Shepherd's men pointing guns at his men, preventing them from getting to him. 

Shepherd grabbed him by his vest and forced him up slightly.

"You will do everything I tell you to do, or I will take your medics too," snarled Shepherd

"I...I understand, sir," said Graves, quiet

Shepherd shoved Graves away and walked away as Graves struggled to stand, head still ringing from the force of Shepherd's blow.

"Do whatever Shepherd's men say," Graves said, quietly, almost defeatedly

His Shadows, looking from his already bruising cheek to Shepherd and then back again, did not refuse.

The training was one of the most inhumane trainings Graves had ever been a part of. Shepherd's men were ruthless. They chained his Shadows' wrists behind their backs and forced them to run 10 laps around the whole base. The first person who dropped and the last one to complete the 10 laps got beat with a leather belt publicly. If you didn't run fast enough, they shot at your feet. The training course they built had to be an OSHA violation.

After that training had started, Graves hid a camera in his vest, for evidence. This was inhumane, and he had to do something, yet a part of him knew there wouldn't be much he could do.

On the first day of that training, 150 of his men were admitted into the medical ward with injuries ranging from dehydration and exhaustion to bruises and blood to literal belt welts.

The number of injuries didn't decrease from then on; if anything, the severity of the wounds increased.

Graves still remembered, vividly, when Private Jamie Everest had fallen off the obstacle course and broke two ribs, one of which punctured his lung and forced the need for surgery. They'd all been avoiding doing surgery. No medic wanted to operate on their awake friend, but they had no choice; otherwise, Jamie would die.

They strapped Jamie down to the operating table, Graves never leaving his side. They agreed, one lunch two weeks back, that if anyone was to go through surgery, they'd have someone not operating on them with them, to comfort them and care for them when it was over. 

Jamie was trembling, he trusted the medics wholeheartedly, but they didn't sugarcoat that it was going to hurt. Graves gently slipped a rubber mouth guard in Jamie's mouth to prevent him from biting off his tongue before putting on the oxygen mask.

"You ready, kid," whispered Graves, and Jamie nodded meekly, tears forming in his eyes. 

"We'll be as quick as we can, Jamie," whispered Carter

They were as quick as they could be while being cautious. Jamie screamed almost the entire until he had lost his voice. He was having a hard time breathing right until Graves turned his head gently and pressed their foreheads together.

The surgery took almost five hours to complete. When it was finally over, Jamie lay sobbing and panting on the operating table.

“Rest now,” mumbled Graves, softly, and Jamie slipped away almost instantly.

The day of Artemisia’s return to Shadow Company was today, and Phillip Graves sat, on his knees, tied to a pole, and effectively gagged in front of his entire company. Shepherd stood in front, his men behind him, guns drawn and ready to use on his men should they cause any problems. Two of Shepherd’s men held snarling dogs and Graves felt a chill down his spine. Shepherd didn’t even say anything to him or his men before the dogs were released. Graves’ screams were muffled by the gag as dogs tore into him, shredding his clothes and skin. He could feel his bones threaten to break.

Then, all at once, the weights on his body were gone, and the dogs were sailing through the air. They hit the ground with pathetic yelps and went still. He recognized the large woman standing in front of him. 

Artemisia rose slowly, and even though her back was to him, her rage was palpable. 

“What the hell do you think you’re doing,” she snarled

“Reprimand,” said Shepherd, “It’s over now; clean him up; you have more training to do,” 

Shepherd walked off with his men as Artemisia hurried to Graves’ side. 

Graves was having a hard time breathing, and his head was spinning as blood gushed down his body. He tried to get in air, but his chest constricted and left him wheezing.

Artemisia cut him free and tore the gag off, hurrying to the medical bay.

“Just hang on, Phillip, you aren’t allowed to die before me,” she said

Artemisia was furious when she heard what Shepherd had done. Graves sat on his bed, a foldable desk in his lap and papers scattered across it as Artemisia paced.

“This lasted a week?” she asked

“And I doubt it’s going to stop,” said Graves, voice weak and hoarse

“Fucking hell,” she growled, “You got evidence?”

“Yeah, more than enough, but it won’t get far. Shepherd’s a general, Artemisia, no one will believe us,”

Artemisia looked away, knowing Graves was right. She sighed and walked over to the side of his bed, taking a seat next to him. She leaned over and pressed a kiss to the forehead of her childhood friend.

“Rest for now, Phillip; I’ll handle everything until you are able,” she said, softly

“Thank you for always being by my side,” he responded

“Who else will?” she asked as she got up and left his room, closing the door behind her with a snap.

Graves stared for a moment longer before turning back to his paperwork. He had a lot to do.

TMNT OC !!!

This character is not related to my AU, just an OC I have since I was a very little child watching my first turtle related thing (TMNT 2007). I have her Rise 'n 12 versions that I'd like to share, and plan to insert her in my AU later on!! Her name is Artemísia, as in Artemisia Gentileschi, and she's a Leatherback Marine Turtle (my favorite turtle ever) I'll post oldest to newest arts of her :3 Artemísia Hamato - ROTTMNT

Uff, that was a lot of drawings to go through!! Hehee~ Rise Artemísia's lore is not very different from the other boys, besides the fact that she was still an egg when Lou exploded Draxum's lab-

Artemísia Hamato - TMNT2k12

Her 12 version is a very tiny bean with a bit more of lore! She's a failed kraang experiment that runned away and it's adopted by the Hamato Fam during the arc when they search the mutagen canisters (forgot the season now-).

She's 9 years old, extremely strong physically and it's non-vocal for most of the time. She's a little cryptid with big eyes who's like causing chaos and is closest to Raph and Mikey, who actually found her in the first place. She also eats Kraang because why not-

Throughout the many iterations of TMNT the four Turtles of the Hamato Clan have always been iconic but Leo, Donnie, Raph & Mikey aren’t the only Turtles of the family & there have been other mutant Turtles throughout the different iterations of TMNT

Another mutant Turtle is one that has been seen a few times in different TMNT iterations either following a ‘separated at mutation’ plot line or have the mutation happen later in the story

Venus

One of the other mutant Turtles that is quite well known within the TMNT fandom would be Venus De Milo who was the 5th Turtle in the Next Mutation show.

Her background was that she was a 5th Turtle that was mutated with Leo, Donnie, Raph & Mikey but got swept away in the sewers until she ended up in China Town where she was found by a Shinobi master & taken to be raised in Shanghai, she would later make her way back to New York & join the Turtle’s team.

Venus also makes an appearance as a character in the IDW comics as a former Punk Frog who was made into a Turtle by Dr Barlow using Donnie’s old shell.

Leo: What are you doing!? That was Venus De Magic the Queen of Quick Change!

There’s a slight possible reference to Venus in Rise with one of Leo’s favourite magicians being called Venus De Magic with Leo cradling the bust of one of his favourite magicians feeling a bit similar to Venus holding the statue head that gave her, her nickname & many people believe that there were plans to include Venus in Rise due to the plot of season 3 being the Turtles finding out they had two missing siblings but due to Rise not getting the season 3 it had expected we never got to find out if Venus really was one of the missing siblings in Rise.

Kirby

Closely related to Venus is the mutant Turtle Kirby a 5th Turtle that had been planned to be introduced in the 1990′s film series before the fourth movie was cancelled, named after the comic book artist Jack Kirby, Kirby was meant to be a Turtle from another dimension that would join the Turtles. There was talk of Kirby being the 5th Turtle in the Next Mutation but Saban Entertainment refused to do the series unless the 5th Turtle was a girl leading to Venus being created.

A version of Kirby was designed for the IDW comics where he was meant to be shown as part of the Splinter Clan in Future Lita’s future however though a design was created for Kirby he was not included in the actual comic.

Funnily enough Kirby the Turtle is not the only TMNT character to be named after Jack Kirby as April’s father in the 2012 series also shares the name Kirby

Jennika

Jennika is the 5th Mutant Turtle on the team in the IDW comics, she is a former Foot Clan Ninja who Splinter took under his wing & was mutated into a Turtle when Leo gave her a blood transfusion to save her life.

Before her mutation Jennika had been a friend of the Turtles & the idea of Jennika becoming a mutant Turtle had been tossed around for three years before it was finally finalised.

Jennika’s mutant form was originally designed by Sophie Campbell & coincidentally bares some resemblance to a fan character that Sophie Campbell designed named Artemisia (most likely named after the Italian painter Artemisia Gentileschi), the similarities between Jennika & Artemisia’s designs are said to be a coincidence as it was requested that Jennika’s bandana colour be yellow to match her hair from when she was human.

Sophie Campbell actually did get to include a canon version of Artemisia in the IDW comics by giving her a cameo in Future Lita’s future as a member of the Splinter Clan in the future.

Slash

Slash is arguably the 5th Turtle that has appeared in the most iterations of TMNT appearing in both the 1987 & 2012 series as well as appearing in both the Archie & IDW comics

In the 1987 series Slash was Bebop’s pet turtle who was mutated by Rocksteady & would later become the Turtle’s enemy, in the 2012 series Slash was Raph’s pet turtle who was mutated accidentally & would act as an enemy to the Turtles before becoming their ally & becoming the leader of the Mutanimals.

In the Archie comics Slash is an alien who was banished from his planet in the IDW comics Slash was mutated by StockGen who ended up following Hob & becoming an ally to the Turtles

Slash has even made a cameo in Rise appearing in the episode Bad Hair Day with a character meant to look like Mona Lisa.

Lita

Lita is a little girl who was mutated into a Turtle & taken in by Jennika & the other Turtles, she was named after Lita Ford (Jennika’s favourite singer), & she seems to view Jennika & the other Turtles as family as the Future version of Lita referred to Jennika as ‘mom’ & has called Raph, Donnie & Leo ‘Dad’.

It’s been shown that at some point in the future Lita becomes the apprentice & assistant to a grown up version of Renet

It appears that the future version of Lita is arguably especially close with Leo due to him being her Sensei

Uno, Yi, Moja & Odyn

Uno, Yi, Moja & Odyn are Turtles raised by Casey Marie Jones as the second generation of Ninja Turtles in the Last Ronin universe. The Turtles each seem to take after one of the original four Turtle’s with Uno taking after Leo, Yi taking after Donnie, Moja taking after Raph & Odyn taking after Mikey.

Each of the Turtles are named after the number one in different languages.

Character Info and Story Below!

~~~~~~Backstory~~~~~~

Dr Shen Hamato was part of a small team (if you can call three people a 'team') of researchers creating and studying the effects of a substance called 'Mutagen'. This substance, created by Dr Barry 'Drax' Draxum, was designed to speed up the evolutionary process. In most subjects, this would simply remove unnecessary organs or alter their size but in a few cases, the turtles they were testing on became humanoid. While exciting, the trio couldn't figure out what was causing this very specific reaction in less than a handful of painted turtles. Shortly after the success that was the twins, Drax and Baxter Stockman disappeared. While Shen did suspect foul play, they vanished several days apart. Despite seemingly falling off the face of the earth, no one came to repossess or even look into the facility. Shen simply continued to live there with the four turtles.

For a l o n g time, it was just the five of them. That is… until they found Raph halfway into the first major arc with a drive initialed B.S. around his neck.

Ages and species: Leo is an 18 yro Midland Painted turtle Mikey is a 17 yro Western Painted turtle Donnie and… teal? (we'll get back to her) are twins. They're 15 and Southern Painted turtles Raph is the youngest by almost 3 years. He's 13 and an Eastern Painted turtle

Speaking of Donnie's twin, I don't know what to name her. She's inspired by Venus de Milo, Frida, and Artemisia but I'm conflicted on what to name her. I want her to match her siblings in being named after an Italian Renaissance Artist but there's simultaneously so many and so few options.
